Sal Jones’ process is oil painting, she paints directly on the surface, which is usually canvas or board, she is a figurative painter, working in oils. Most of her paintings are of people however she sometimes paints objects associated with people. These will often be on a smaller scale, possibly intimate and have a degree of symbolism, personal connection and/or connotation to them.

‘The inspiration behind The Mean Reds is a rubber finger puppet. It looks like it is emotionally ready to explode, suspending it on nails on the studio wall in order to paint it sort of rendered it captive. To me it personifies the mean reds; those crippling anxieties and fears and frustrations that seem to come from nowhere.’

O processo de Sal Jones é a pintura a óleo, ela pinta diretamente na superfície, que geralmente é tela ou tábua, ela é uma pintora figurativa, trabalhando em óleos. A maioria das pinturas são de pessoas, no entanto, ela às vezes pinta objetos associados a pessoas. Estes serão muitas vezes em menor escala, possivelmente íntimos e têm um certo grau de simbolismo, conexão pessoal e/ou conotação com eles.
